Scott Moore, the executive director of CBC Sports, is playing down earlier published reports Thursday that hockey fans have heard the Hockey Night in Canada theme song for a final time.

With little fanfare, Gartner announced yesterday that the number of computers in use worldwide had reached 1 billion. I remember many a speech in the mid to late 1990’s —- Andy Grove, Craig Barrett and other Intel executives expousing the company vision of “a billion connected PCs”. Well, it’s here now, at least the ‘billion’ part. Good for Intel and the PC Industry, we had a vision and charted a course to get here, but what now? Over at USA Today, they did a little feature on the Avengers movie, and while most of it is old news (Tony Stark at the end of The Incredible Hulk, Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man, who they are, what this means, etc.), there was one new item for fans to chew on.
